I definitely have a bit of Sheldon Cooper in me, as I have firmly claimed the corner spot on my couch for my study spot. It's got the best lighting, it's close enough to the wall to plug in my laptop, and the arm rest is in exactly the right position for my textbooks. It's the perfect spot.
Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so.
Every single time I get up to make tea or find another textbook or have a pee, there's a furry beast in my spot when I return. Fortunately I'm bigger than him, so he has to content himself with sleeping next to the other cat.
He isn't amused.

Well, of COURSE you were just warming it up for him, right? They look very cute as they lounge on the back of the sofa!
At my parents' house, if you don't "reserve" your seat with a pillow when you get up, the grey tabby WILL steal your spot. He shows no remorse (or interest in moving) when you come back.
At least you have a Sheldon-level spot, and and not a Homer Simpson-level spot molded to your rear end on the couch...
